Hypnosis in a nutshell.png)
Hypnosis has long since been thought of strange and mysterious, but it isn't at all and in fact you are in hypnosis every day of your life and have been thousands of time before. Hypnosis is a natural state you are in through your day, have you ever drove home form work and switched off into a day dream and then arrive home but you cant remember getting there or your reading a book and your mind starts wandering then you realise for the last 10 min you havn't actually red anything, that is hypnosis.

How does this happen?
Everything you have learned is stored in your subsconscious mind, so if we take the driivng a car situation we talked aboutearlier, you may find when you start your drive for instance coming out of your drive way, turning into a few junctions and roundabouts requires a bit of conscoius mind
But as soon as you are on the main road and your just driving in a straight line for several miles its becomes very easy so the the conscious mind is free to drift off because it is not needed because the information to maintain the car on a straight easy drive is stored in your subsconscios which allows your subconscious to become more active as this is quite tricky.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention, either inwardly or outwardly directed. The client has control over this and can end the hypnosis any time they wish.
Just like when you are driving your car on the straight road for several miles when a car in front stops sudenly your conscious mind comes into play again. This is the same if you were in a hypnosis session if the fire alarm went off you would just jump straight up and walk out.
How it works
Clinical hypnosis is a skill of using words and gesture in a certain way to achieve specific outcomes. Generally in a trance state (hypnosis ) you are more subseptible or receptive to hypnotic suggestion. Your conscious mind is more judging than the subconsious mind and will not except suggestions as redily as the subsconsious mind, therefore positive changes are better recieved in the subscounsious mind.
What will it feel like?
You are likely to experience relaxation, sleepiness, lightness or heavines in there body, tingling feeling or a feeling of what some people call "big hands". All these things are quite natural and you have problably felt some or most of these things at one time or another in your life.
You may feel more detached or more connected than usual, but different people experience it in differerent ways
